This Privacy Policy applies to the sites and apps where it appears.

This Policy describes how we treat personal information we collect both online and offline. This includes on our websites or in our apps. It also includes at our box offices or in phone or email interactions you have with us.

We collect information from and about you.

Contact information. For example, we might collect your name and street address. We might also collect your phone number or email.

Payment and billing information. For example, we do NOT collect your credit card number and zip code when you buy a ticket.  Instead, you will be securely directed to Paypal to make a payment and then return to our site to complete the purchase.

Information you post. For example, we collect information you post in a public space on our website or on our group by the same name on Meetup.com.

Demographic information. We may collect information about events you like or products you buy. We might collect this as part of a survey, for example.

Other information. If you use our website, we may collect information about the browser you’re using. We might look at what site you came from, or what site you visit when you leave us. If you use our mobile app, we may collect your GPS location or your device’s unique identifier. We might also collect the type of mobile device you are using, or the version of the operating system your computer or device is running. We might look at how often you use the app and where you downloaded it.

We collect information in different ways.

We collect information directly from you. For example, if you register for a promotion or buy tickets. We also collect information if you post a comment on our websites or ask us a question.

We collect information from you passively. We may use tracking tools like browser cookies and web beacons.

We get information about you from third parties. For example, if you use an integrated social media feature on our websites or mobile applications such as Facebook login. The third-party social media site will give us certain information about you. This could include your name and email address. Your activities on our sites and apps may be posted to the social media platforms such as our group by the same name on Meetup.com.

We use information as disclosed and described here.

We use information to respond to your requests or questions. For example, we might use your information to confirm your registration for an event or contest. If you give us your friend’s information, we will only use it to provide services you requested.

We use information to improve our products and services. We might use your information to customize your experience with us. This could include displaying content based upon your preferences.

We use information to look at site trends and customer interests. We may use your information to make our website and products better. We may combine information we get from you with information about you we get from third parties such as Meetup.com.

We use information for security purposes. We may use information to protect our company, our customers, or our websites.

We use information for marketing purposes. For example, we might send you information about special promotions or offers. We might also tell you about new features or products.

We use information to send you transactional communications. For example, we might send you emails about your account or a ticket purchase. We might also contact you about this policy or our website terms.

We use information as otherwise permitted by law.

We may share information with third parties.

We will share information with third parties who perform services on our behalf. For example, we share information with vendors who help us manage our online registration process or who fulfill your purchases.

We will share information with our business partners. This includes a third party who provides or sponsors an event, or who operates a venue where we hold events.

We may share information if we think we have to in order to comply with the law or to protect ourselves. For example, we will share information to respond to a court order or subpoena. We may also share it if a government agency or investigatory body requests. Or, we might also share information when we are investigating potential fraud. This might include fraud we think has happened during a promotion.

We may share information with any successor to all or part of our business. For example, if part of our business is sold we may give our customer list as part of that transaction.

We may share your information for reasons not described in this policy. We will tell you before we do this.

You have certain choices about how we use your information.

You can modify information you have given us. To correct or delete information or update account settings, log into your account and follow the instructions. We make changes as soon as we can. This information may stay in our backup files. If we cannot make the changes you want, we will let you know and explain why. If you contact us requesting access to your information, we will respond within 30 days.

You can control cookies and tracking tools. To learn how to manage how we – and our vendors – use cookies and other tracking tools, please consult your browser’s documentation.

You can delete your data, take a break, or close your account.

You can do any of these yourself, at any time, without giving a reason and at no charge. Log in, go to your profile, and open Settings > Delete Account. The steps are also set out on our Delete Your Account and Data page. If you cannot log in, email us from the address on your account at the address below and we will do it for you within 30 days.

Note: Waivers are not deleted for legal reasons.

You can delete some of your data and stay a member. You can delete your emergency contacts, your car and carpool details (car, license plate and pickup addresses), your saved lists, favorites and requests, all of your event pictures, and all of your reviews and their photos. What you choose is deleted straight away and cannot be brought back. You can also delete any comment you wrote on a picture, at any time, from the picture’s Comments panel.

You can deactivate your account. You are logged out, and your profile and everything you posted are hidden from other members. Nothing is deleted. Logging in again makes your account active again, with everything as you left it.

You can close your account. You decide what happens to what you posted: for your reviews and their photos, for your event pictures, and for your forum posts, you choose whether each is deleted or left on the site without your name. We email you a link to confirm. When you confirm, your account is hidden from other members straight away and is deleted 30 days later. If you log in during those 30 days, the closure is cancelled and nothing is deleted.

What is deleted with your account. Your account, username, email address, password and profile, including your profile picture and cover image. Your private messages, friendships, group memberships, notifications and activity. Your saved lists, favorites and requests, your car, carpool and pickup details, your emergency contacts and other forms you filled in. Tags of you in other members’ pictures, your comments on pictures, and your name on event attendee lists. Saved payment methods, and the link to your Google, Facebook or Apple sign-in.

What we keep, and why. Signed waivers: waivers are not deleted for legal reasons, because a waiver is the legal record of an event you attended. Orders and payments: records of tickets and purchases are kept for tax and accounting, no longer attached to an account; when you close your account you can ask for your name and contact details to be removed from them, and the record of what was bought, when and for how much stays. Moderation records: if an organizer removed something you posted, the private note of that decision is kept. Adventures and event pages you created as an organizer belong to the group and stay, without your account. Backup copies of the site made before your account was deleted expire on their own schedule.

Tickets to upcoming events. When you close your account you can ask the organizers to cancel your tickets to upcoming events. Ticket cancellation is still subject to the cancellation policy in effect for the event. Deleting an account does not delete tickets if the cancellation policy does not allow it.

If you signed in with Google, Facebook or Apple. Deleting your account here deletes everything we received from them: your name, your email address and the ID that links the two accounts. To also remove this site from your Google, Facebook or Apple account, use that account’s own “apps and websites” or “Sign in with Apple” settings.

You can ask for a copy of your data. Log in, go to your profile, and open Settings > Export Data.

We use standard security measures.

We have security measures in place to protect your information. The standard security measures we use will depend on the type of information collected. However, the Internet is not 100% secure. We cannot promise that your use of our sites will be completely safe. We encourage you to use caution when using the Internet. This includes not sharing your passwords. If you think that an unauthorized account has been created using your name, contact us at the address below.

We may link to third party sites or services we don’t control.

If you click on one of those links, you will be taken to websites we do not control. This policy does not apply to the privacy practices of those websites. Read the privacy policy of other websites carefully. We are not responsible for these third party sites.

Feel free to contact us if you have more questions.

If you have any questions about this Policy or other privacy concerns, you can email us at: admin_pub at our website.com.  Please do not include your credit card number or other sensitive information in your email.

What we will do if there is an update to this policy.

From time to time we may change our privacy practices. We will notify you of any material changes to this policy as required by law. We will also post an updated copy on our website. Please check our site periodically for updates.
